This lesser known lady, who surprised everyone as the main choice of the ruling combine and hence almost certain to be India's next and the first woman president, was so shocked, aghast and awe struck that she looked in the tv screens like a kid seeing an elephant for the first time.... Hope she dont get a heart attack, by this gift that "madam soniaji" has so very benovelently bestowed on her family loyalist. The left vetoed, all the names that congress and Soniaji, had to offer, claiming that they were all weak candidates and lacked political stature.....Accept it or deny it, it is part of history now....... As usual, the left which can never be right, pulls the strings in this doll drama, that seems to be in power at Delhi, deciding on the faith of this "largest democracy "of the world. It is nothing less than a calamity.....Shivraj patil, was weak as he was a stooge of the Gandhis...... Sushil kumar shinde was weaker as he was almost a persian carpet at the Gandhis....Dr Karan singh was "proud 'to be a Hindu...(what a crime in this secular India?) and hence all of them were unqualified and out of the rat race..... and emerges the little known, obscure, nonexisting entity of a lady named Prathibha patil who will preside over the nation from the Rashtrapathi bhavan at Raisina Hill..... Her caste, her husbands caste and the rajput origin, and all the dynamics that Indian politcs had to consider.... has come into dissection..... Maratta pride, anti BJP stance and all the crap..... Modern world.... here India has arrived !!!
Its a fake claim that is now being propagated, that 'we always wanted a lady to be there'....
If that was the case, why didnt that happen first...why all the names of the stooges, penpullers and palanquin bearers was dragged, discussed and humiliated..... why is an "incapable & non performing" (as per their own admission) Shivraj patil still the home minister of this country? Will ever be serious attempts to empower women ,rather than throwing up symbolisms like this, melodramas and shameless display of bankrupcy?
Anything is possible in this country.... they didnt want a stooge to be there..... but when a door mat is the prime minister, why cant a toilet brush be the president? after all this is India.........

for a relatively unknown person,almost all the parties won't mind. Congress can again create a taboo saying a chance for woman to become " President" like earlier wen APJ Abdul Kalam was elected, it was said "a chance for a scientist"... so we can hope so that " Aishwarya Rai " wouldn't be next President as a part of building " brand India" program..

It is an intelligent ploy by the UPA to make it look like the opposition is opposing a woman's candidature if it fields a candidate(which it will, in all probability) against this lady.
What you have said is correct. Indian politics have stooped to such an extent that anyone loyal to 10 Janpath can aspire for and "reach" any position.
